B.linc Innovation

  • B.linc Workshop Licoln University Campus Lincoln New Zealand (map)

Our vibe series usually showcase a local company from the Lincoln precinct, but we’re keeping this slot for ourselves this time.

Since 2020 we’ve been so busy to-ing and fro-ing on the virtual vs in-person event delivery with little opportunity to provide any accurate updates about what other projects B.linc is working on. We’re officially a Lincoln University Business Unit; we have had a soft rebrand, delivered some fantastic projects and events, and got even more cool stuff in the pipeline. With many of our projects lying in the ‘Sustainability’ space, we’re passionate about working on developing ways that include innovation and collaboration within New Zealand Aotearoa’s food and fibre sector.

So in 2023 we want to let you know about some of the other exciting projects we are working on and how you can be involved.

Join us as our Director, Wim de Koning provides an overview of B.linc2023, what you can expect from us this year and how you might be included in our future.

The B.linc VIBE event series is an opportunity to hear from one of the wider Lincoln precinct companies about their business and to touch base, reconnect and build connections across the precinct.

About Our Speaker

Dr. Wim de Koning is a passionate creator of sustainable added value in the Agri-Food Industry space.  Having extensive global experience in sales & marketing, he understands from first-hand experience what is required to be part of a global sustainable value chain.  In 2018, Dr. de Koning made the decision to relocate to Canterbury, New Zealand, from The Netherlands. With his role at Lincoln University as Adjunct Professorial Fellow, Co-director Centre of Excellence in Transformative Agribusiness and Executive Director of B.linc Innovation, he saw opportunities & was able to put his expertise into use.  Together with a colleague, Dr Jeff Heyl, they created The Lincoln Multi-Crop/Energy Demonstration Farm concept.  Dr. de Koning’s vision is that a circular model needs to be embraced by New Zealand and he has been instrumental in the development of Lincoln University’s Agri Solar farm. As part of the organising committee for the 2022 NZ Sustainability Summit, Dr de Koning helped to execute the summit and is frequently called upon as an expert in this field.
