Collaboration brings food and ag innovation closer together
B.linc Innovation (B.linc) has become a Partner in FoodHQ. The organisations will work together to facilitate innovation in food, fibre and agritech across New Zealand.
FoodHQ is a national network of food-related research, education, innovation, and commercial organisations, and is headquartered in Manawatū. Its existing Partners cover most of New Zealand’s capability in food science and innovation, and include AgResearch, Massey University, Plant & Food Research, The Factory, Fonterra, The Riddet Institute, Cawthron Institute, ESR and the New Zealand Food Safety Science and Research Centre.
B.linc recently joined Lincoln University as a business unit. Its establishment aims to facilitate and grow an exponential innovation ecosystem in agriculture, food and technology.
B.linc’s Managing Director, Dr. Wim de Koning says working together would result in greater support for primary-focused innovators in New Zealand from the conception of ideas and of collaborative thinking all the way through to execution.
“It is a natural fit for us and through working together in separate parts of the country, we can provide further-reaching support.”
FoodHQ Chief Executive, Dr. Abby Thompson says B.linc has established itself as a leader in discussions around key topics such as sustainable food production models.
“This collaboration will continue to strengthen the ‘whole of value chain’ approach to food that New Zealand needs to take to ensure our nation’s future success.”
